Registering with Crew Pacific is FREE.

Please read the following guidelines before emailing us your CV to register with Crew Pacific.

Before Crew Pacific can assist you into Full-time/Seasonal/Temp employment we do require that you follow our resume requirements.  Please understand that our clients request this information when they use our services looking for crew, so your co-operation is much appreciated.

Note: Not providing the information we request will delay your resume getting to our clients who are looking for crew.

Crew Pacific likes to be able to provide all information to our clients “straight away”.  It shows professionalism and efficiency and helps us to represent you, the “crew-member” to a high standard and gives you, the “crew-member” the leading edge over other crew applying for the positions.

RESUME: MUST BE IN A WORD DOCUMENT - NO LARGER THAN 250KBS IN SIZE
ONLY USE ONE FONT (PREFERABLY CALIBRI OR ARIAL) 
FONT SIZE 11/12 – HEADINGS MUST BE IN BLACK, NO BRIGHT COLOURS ARE ACCEPTED.

1. Your resume is required to be no more than 2-3 pages long and 250kbs in size. This is due to satcom charges when downloading documents on a yacht computer.

2. Ensure your resume is saved into a word document NOT a PDF file

3. Personal Details we need to see on your Resume:
    - Current Location (State and Country)
    - Nationality
    - Passport Number (with expiry date Day/Month/Year) this is kept confidential in your file.
      Not shown on your resume.
    - Contact Numbers – Must have international phone codes
    - E-mail address
    - Skype address
    - B1/B2 or C1/D1 Visas with expiry date (Day/Month/Year)
    - Australian work visa’s with expiry date (Day/Month/Year)
    - ENG1 Medical – expiry date (Day/Month and Year) If it is endorsed by AMSA
      (Australian Maritime Safety Authority) or MCA (Maritime Coast guard agency)

    - Languages 
    - Marital Status


4. On your resume you are required to have a passport photo. This needs to be scanned and saved into a JPEG format and no larger than 250kbs in size. You must not be wearing a hat, sunglasses or a bikini. You need to present yourself well as “first impressions are important”. If you are using a digital camera you need to ensure you reduce your pixels to at least 25kbs in size.

5. Maritime Qualifications: You are required to have dates of when you completed your courses and where. If the courses are MCA endorsed or AMSA endorsed please state this on your resume.

Abbreviations:
AMSA Endorsement: Australian Maritime Safety Authority
MCA: Endorsement: Maritime Coast Guard agency

6. Maritime Experience
You are required to add;

    - Name of Yacht; eg: S.Y Kokomo or M.Y Kokomo II
    - Size of Yacht 59m or 130ft
    - Position you held while on board
    - Start date with month and year you started and with month and year you finished the position.
    - Location of yacht – where you travelled with the yacht.
    - Duties you completed on board: no more than 50 words

7. Other Work Experience:
    - Name of company or manager
    - Position you held
    - Start date with month and year you started and with month and year you finished the position.
    - Location – where you worked, state and country
    - Duties you completed in your job on land

8. Crew Pacific requires THREE REFEREES ON YOUR RESUME

    - With persons name,
    - Phone numbers (ensure phone numbers have international country codes) 
    - E-mail addresses. E-mail addresses are a must as we do contact these referees with a
      reference check questionnaire sheet.
      Once your referees reply back to us, we save their replies in your file.
      When the client (Captain/Owner) asks if we have reference checked you we can provide
      this information to them, demonstrating your legitimacy.

Referees are
previous employers whom are happy for us to contact them either by phone or e-mail for a verbal or written reference check on you.

 

9. Crew Pacific also requires two written references (these can be land or yacht related). They must be scanned and saved into a JPEG format, no larger than 250kbs in size and saved into a word document. Alternatively you can save your written references in a PDF file, ensuring they are no larger than 250kbs in size.


Written references
 are letters from your previous employers that give an outline of your previous employment.


10. Chefs and Cooks
- You are required to present a seven-day menu plan including breakfast, lunch, hors d'oeuvres and dinner for up to 12 guests. Photo portfolios are accepted ensuring they are in either a word document or PDF file and no larger than 250kbs in size. This is due to sitcom charges when downloading documents on yachts


11. All certificates are to be provided to Crew Pacific.

Crew Pacific strives to maintain the highest standards. As a professional organisation we require a minimum entry standard. Please ensure all requirements listed on the ‘Resume Template’ are completed. Failure to do so could jeopardise your chances of employment through Crew Pacific
