CAPTAIN/ENGINEER REQUIRED FOR A 34M MOTOR YACHT (PRIVATE/CHARTER) FOREIGN FLAGGED

WORK INFORMATION:

A 34m motor yacht (Private/charter) is currently looking for a Captain/Engineer to join their crew of 6. Ideally the yacht is searching for a captain/Engineer that has worked on similar size yachts and has worked on charter yachts within Australia and overseas. The yacht will be chartering 90% of the time and 10% private. The captain/engineer needs to have great crew management skills, hands on and professional, at all times. Someone that loves to always provide great customer service but also be a great mentor to his crew.

Needs to have strong engineering skills and know the Whitsunday islands and South Pacific well.  Need to be a fit and healthy person and must have been a captain for at least 2-3 years. The owners are very lovely and caring people, which love their yacht very much.

The yacht is required to be maintained to a high standard in both presentation and maintenance. Engines are 2x V12 cylinders Mercedes.

Desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Strong administrative skills, excel spreadsheets, reports, document, file & follow through, be accountable.
• Ability to understand and work to a budget.
• Strong marketing skills, contacts, industry knowledge
• Strong knowledge of the Whitsunday islands and South Pacific
• Engineering knowledge essential
• Electrical qualifications will be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master 200GRT or higher, Med 2/1 ticket or MCA engineering tickets are acceptable.

ITINERARY:

Brisbane, Whitsunday islands and the South Pacific.

START DATE:  immediate start.  The yacht has a charter starting on the 28^{th of} December through to the 4^{th of} January 2024 would ideally need someone to start on the 1^st of December out of Brisbane and to take the yacht to the Whitsunday islands.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: The yacht is open to a temp captain for the charter but ideally looking for someone Seasonal or Full Time

SALARY:  $140,000AUD – $170,000AUD per year – inclusive of super – this is pending on qualifications, experience, and longevity in previous roles.
