A marine company located in Sidney BC are searching for a marine service technician, ideally, they are looking for an ex-2nd or 3rd engineer with luxury superyacht experience and now is wanting to return to land-based roles

A marine company located in Sidney BC are searching for a marine service technician, ideally, they are looking for an ex-2nd or 3rd engineer with luxury superyacht experience and now is wanting to return to land-based roles. You need to have at least 3-5 years yacht experience and now wants to move to land and into Canada.

They require the candidate to have a strong mechanical and diesel experience. Experience with marine propulsion systems, generators, diagnostics, electrical systems, or Volvo Penta equipment would be an asset.

The position is based in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada, with competitive compensation based on experience. We are particularly interested in experienced marine engineers who are open to relocating to Canada.

  • Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee
  • Work site environment: can be noisy, odours, in/on water, outdoors and wet/damp
  • Work Setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer, willing to relocate, Various Locations, marine.
  • Responsibilities: Adjust, repair or replace electrical system parts, Adjust, repair or replace mechanical system parts, Diagnose and isolate faults on engines, document your inspection and tests made on engines, estimate repair costs, review work orders, instruct apprentices, Perform scheduled maintenance and service, advise customers on work performed and condition of equipment, Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Experience & Specialization: Power tools, marine engines, watercraft, Recreation vehicle repairer, Troubleshooting/Diagnostic, Disel engines
  • Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co -ordination, ability to distinguish between colours, Bending, Crouching, kneeling, Handling heavy loads, physically demanding, combination of sitting, standing, walking, Fast-paced environment, Standing for extended periods, work under pressure.

START DATE:    Is flexible for 2026/Early 2027 – however once you are interviewed and employed the process with the visa may take some time so they would like to have someone signed up for the role ASAP so that they can process the visa by late October 26

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  FULL TIME

SALARY: Yearly Salary ($76,128.00CAD – $93,600CAD) this is pending on the candidates experience and qualifications
